Beyond labels. Within the everyday.
An intimate portrait of a non-binary life.
Margaritari, a documentary directed by Lina Damaskopoulou and Alexis Tsafas, premieres at the 28th Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival.
It is the first Greek-produced documentary to approach the non-binary experience through the artistic journey of a creator.
The film follows Margaritari, a non-binary artist working in queer comics and in the field of independent queer porn as both performer and filmmaker.
The project was developed through close collaboration with the person at the center of the story, allowing their voice and lived experience to actively shape the film’s narrative.

Official Selection – 28th Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival
A production by Eqvus Productions
What happens when the person at the center of a film participates in the telling of their own story?
Margaritari follows a non-binary artist who creates queer comics and works in independent queer porn as both performer and filmmaker.
From the intimacy of their own space, their voice unfolds with clarity and presence, while everyday moments and artistic practices gradually reveal a life in motion.
Through this close collaboration, the filmmaking process becomes a space of shared creation, where trust allows the narrative to take shape together with the very person whose story is being told.
What emerges is an intimate portrait of voice, body, and identity in the process of becoming.
